My mother passed in May 3 days before her 60 th birthday after a 5 year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She had early detection and had been taking medication for years prior while being monitored. Early detection is great, but we need a cure for stage four. My mom was a huge supporter of METavivor. I don’t own anything with a pink ribbon in my home, as it was her wish that I not. Instead I support research into more and better treatments for metastatic. I watched a warrior of a woman slowly waste away and die. My hope is no daughter has to experience that pain. No mother has to say goodbye to her children. no grandmother has to die before they get the joy of watching their grandchildren grow.
